Former Prime Minister of Italy and former owner of Milan, Silvio Berlusconi has accumulated scandals throughout his life as a politician and businessman

Silvio Berlusconiwho was Prime Minister of Italy and chaired the Milan, passed away this Monday, the 12th. The businessman and politician was admitted to the San Raffaele hospital, in Milan, accompanied by his wife and children. According to the latest Forbes update, his fortune was valued at BRL 34 billion, which made him the 5th richest man in the European country.

In addition to recognition in the political and sports universes, Berlusconi added a series of controversies throughout his life. A year after forming his own party, Força Italia, the businessman was elected Prime Minister of the country for the first time; however, he stepped down after seven months amid allegations of fraud.

Berlusconi served three terms as Prime Minister of Italy (from 1994 to 1995, from 2001 to 2006 and from 2008 to 2011). Among the biggest scandals in his personal life is “Rubygate”: in 2010, the billionaire was accused of having sex with a 17-year-old dancer named Karima El Mahroug, known as “Ruby, the thief of hearts”.

He was also convicted three years later of abuse of power and found guilty of having sex with a minor, which culminated in a seven-year prison sentence and a ban on holding public office again. In 2014, he was acquitted of the crimes after appeal. In his biography, Berlusconi declared that he had never touched Ruby, who was a call girl.

After investigations, the Italian media discovered Silvio’s participation in several erotic parties, which became known as “bunga-bunga”. The same investigation would have found that Berlusconi had sexual relations with 33 women in an interval of two months. In addition, in 2022, the politician was accused of allowing the presence of Iris Berardi in one of the celebrations; at the time, the Brazilian was a minor.

The former AC Milan owner has also been singled out for wrongdoing, including a case where he allegedly offered a bribe to a judge; he, in turn, placed himself as a victim of the legal authorities of Milan. Vain, Berlusconi became known for wearing makeup, dyeing his hair, receiving a hair transplant and resorting to various plastic surgeries to disguise his age.
