John Fury confident Usyk will pull out of Dubois fight
John Furyfather of WBC world heavyweight champion tyson fury, said that the Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk withdraw from the fight against Daniel Dubois.
“Usyk could earn 12-15 for the fight with Tyson, maybe 17 million dollars. And suddenly where was he? Fighting Dubois for six million? That’s funny. He won’t get six million. If they fight, I’ll eat hay with donkeys. This fight will not take place. I will explain to you why. The only fight Usyk wants is a fight with Tyson. Do you know what he wants? Huge money, very big fee. He knows that when he meets the “Gypsy King”, everything will be over for him. And he’s ready to retire anyway.”
“Usyk will definitely withdraw from the fight against Dubois. This is my opinion, and I voiced it first. There is no point in his duel with Dubois. He refused 30 percent, from 12-15 million. Wembley, huge crowd – he turned down probably the biggest fee of his life. But Tyson is the king of the ring and politics. He did what he did, but Tyson is interested in fighting him and that’s the truth.”
Previously Usyk signed a contract with Skill Challenge Entertainment from Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian believes that this cooperation will help organize the fight with Fury.
Skill Challenge Entertainment is planning a massive boxing night in the Middle East in December. Representatives of the company are negotiating the organization of the fight between Usyk and Fury, as well as the fight between two former world champions – Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
Usyk is preparing for his next fight with British Daniel Dubois. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland. Previously, options for holding a championship fight in the UK and the Middle East were considered.
Fury defeated Derek Chisora by TKO in his last fight. The Briton planned to have a unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements.
