The Ukrainian is ready to face the WBC champion after his fight with Daniel Dubois
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO World Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk believes that the WBC title holder Tyson Fury afraid to fight a Ukrainian, so he chose the former UFC heavyweight champion as his opponent Francis Ngannou.
“This guy, Ngannou, is going to make some decent money. For Francis, this is a great opportunity, but for Tyson Fury, it’s definitely not. Don’t you think it’s weird that instead of picking a top 10 guy, he’s picking someone who’s never boxed before? Certainly! The “greedy belly” is afraid of me.”
“Let’s fight for the undisputed title. I’m ready. After the fight with Dubois, I will be ready to fight Fury. But my focus right now is on August 26th.”
Fury will fight Ngannou on October 28 in Riyadh. The rules of the fight and the number of rounds are still unknown, as well as whether the British champion title will be at stake.
Fury has not been in the ring since December 2022, when he defended his WBC title against Derek Chisora. In April, Tyson planned to have a unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements.
Usyk will next fight Daniel Dubois on August 26. The fight will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, at the Tarczynski Arena. It was reported that Usyk will receive 75% of the total prize fund – $6 million. Dubois can count on 25% – 2 million.
