Parma, Colak: “I have a lot of international experience, it was my dream to play for an Italian club”

At the press conference Antonio Colac introduced himself to the press and fans Parma. Here are the statements of the attacker, taken from the official website of the yellow-blues:

“Now it’s hard for me to speak Italian, but later I want to learn the language (he said it in Italian, ed.). My international experience is quite extensive, I have played in several countries. But my dream has always been to play for an Italian team. I know the difficulties that Serie B can bring, but I also know what awaits me and what problems we will have to face in order to move from Serie B to Serie A. Parma is an ambitious team that deserves Serie A, so I here to do whatever will be necessary in this sense. There are several reasons why I changed jerseys several times, primarily because I am ambitious and always love to play. My real motive is to play and show my qualities, which is only possible when I play. I played for many teams, including Croatia, where I scored over 50 goals. Objectively, my scorecard is quite rich. But precisely because I am an ambitious person, I always set myself new goals, both football and personal. For me, Parma is a new experience in which I want to excel and get a much coveted promotion. My conditions? I met with Sassuolo, I had a little problem. I have already returned to training on the field at an individual level in recent days, it is still a matter of a few days before returning with the first team group. I’m getting 100 percent back in shape, it won’t be for long. My characteristics as a striker? I am a striker who loves to work for the team and make a constant contribution. Definitely scoring goals is one of my best qualities because I always feel like I’m scoring. I am here to help the team both on a personal and character level and also because of my football skills. The goal is to use the ambition of the team, using my qualities to lead it to success. Derby with Reggiana? Yes, I know about this derby. The first question I asked upon arrival at the airport was this: I know how important the derby is. Not only for the club, but above all for the fans. We are already talking about it with my teammates, this is a game I want to play even if we have time before we play it. Parma is a large company with a very important history. The moment I had the opportunity to speak with both the director and the coach, I immediately knew that this was the perfect place for my next challenge. Precisely because I think Parma is ideal for achieving success in the future. We are at the beginning of the season and I hope to be part of the great history of Parma. I am a Croatian, but with a German head (in Italian, ed.). My native language is Croatian, but I studied English and Spanish for several years at school. In my experience in Poland, I learned Polish as well as Portuguese, because that is the language that we comrades used among ourselves. I also learned Greek, but it’s a difficult language. And now I’m going to practice my Italian. In general, I really like languages, because it’s a way to adapt to new situations. And above all, they make me feel at home. And that’s why I want to learn Italian, because I want to feel at home here in Parma. Gigi Buffon? It is impossible to replace a personality like Buffon in every aspect. I’m just Antonio Colak, a very optimistic and very positive person. I hope to help the team on a path that will lead everyone to success. I have considerable experience, and I hope that I can help young people to give their best.”
