Farewell ceremony with former CSKA goalkeeper Veniamin Mandrykin takes place on Thursday, August 10, at the military stadium “VEB Arena”.
The funeral will take place at the Perepechinsky cemetery in Khimki.
Mandrykin died last Sunday at the age of 41. The ex-goalkeeper’s sister Zhanna Mandrykina told that Benjamin died of a heart attack.
Mandrykin played for CSKA and also played two games for the Russian national football team. In November 2010, the goalkeeper, who was playing on loan for Dynamo Bryansk, had a car accident. For two months the player was in intensive care and in a medical coma, the doctors managed to save Benjamin’s life, but from that moment on the goalkeeper was bedridden.
As part of CSKA, Mandrykin won the Russian championship and Super Cup three times, won the Russian Cup four times and the UEFA Cup once.
