Chelsea agreed with Brighton about buying a midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The Blues will pay £115m for the Ecuadorian. The player himself will sign a contract with the club until 2031 with the option of extending the contract for another season. In the near future, the midfielder will undergo a medical examination.
Previously, the auction for Caicedo was won by Liverpool, offering 110 million pounds against 100 million from Chelsea. However, the Ecuadorian turned the Reds down, stating that he wanted to join the London club. The midfielder agreed with Chelsea in May on the personal terms of the contract.
Caicedo made 43 appearances for Brighton in all competitions last season. The midfielder has one goal and one assist.
Chelsea will play West Ham next in the Premier League. At the start of the 2023/24 Premier League, the Londoners ended in a draw with Liverpool (1:1).
