The contract with an experienced Serb was signed for two years
French Rennes announced the signing of the Serbian midfielder Nemanja Maticawho spent last season with Roma.
The agreement with the 35-year-old player was concluded for a period of two years. According to unofficial information, the amount of compensation amounted to about two million euros.
Matic spent 13 years in the English Premier League for Chelsea and Manchester United. In 2022, he moved to Roma, where he was coached by Jose Mourinho for the third time in his career. The Serbian defender has played 50 matches for the Romans in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
Roma in the 2022/23 season finished in sixth place in the Italian championship standings. Also, the team of Jose Mourinho reached the final of the Europa League, where they lost to Sevilla.
