National team players Kosovo left the field during the first half of the 2024 European Championship qualifying match against team Romania because of fan behavior.
In the 18th minute, the match in Bucharest was suspended due to the behavior of Romanian fans, whose banner with the inscription “Kosovo is Serbia” was included in the program.
Players of the Kosovo national team, including Akhmat Grozny midfielder Bernard Berisha, drew the attention of French referee Willie Delageau to the behavior of the local fans. The referee then escorted both teams off the field. According to media reports, the players of the Kosovo team refuse to continue the match until the banner is removed.
UEFA said the match was suspended due to discriminatory behavior by supporters.
