Warren: I’m quite confident that the Fury-Usyk fight will happen

Frank Warrenpromoter of WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Furyspoke about the likelihood of a fight between his ward and the world champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO Alexandra Usika. It turned out vague, but optimistic.

“I am quite confident that we will see a unification match. Is the Fury-Usyk fight close to taking place in Riyadh? I don’t know. But I’m pretty confident that this fight will happen,” Warren said.

Let us remind you that immediately after Usik’s fight against Daniel Dubois, which ended with the Ukrainian’s early victory in the ninth round, Warren announced that the Ukrainian’s unification match with the “Gypsy King” is planned for early 2024. Previously, even the exact date was named – January 27.

Well-known promoter Bob Arum is also confident that the long-awaited fight will take place, having expressed his readiness to organize this fight after Fury’s fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, which is scheduled for October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Let us remind you that the unification fight between Usik and Fury was planned for April 2023, but it did not take place then. According to the “Gypsy King”, this happened due to the financial demands of the Ukrainian.
