Everton’s new majority shareholders own several football clubs around the world, including Genoa and Seville
Everton officially announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in the club (94.1%) by an American company 777 Partners from the previous owner, a businessman Farhad Moshiri.
Iranian Moshiri, who has owned Everton since 2016, was close to selling the club last summer. The estimated sale amount was also mentioned – about 1 billion pounds.
Farhad Moshiri bought Everton in February 2016. During his tenure, the Toffees did not win a single title, and in the last two seasons they even claimed relegation, escaping at the very end. Since January 2022, Ukrainian defender Vitaly Mykolenko has been playing for the Liverpool club (52 matches, 1 goal).
777 Partners is an American holding company headquartered in Miami. In addition to Everton, its structure includes several football clubs from different continents. Namely: Italian Genoa (we remind you that Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky has been playing for this club since this season), Spanish Seville, German Hertha, Belgian Standard, French Red Star, Brazilian Vasco da Gama and Australian Melbourne Victory.
It is interesting that the Americans officially came to power in Genoa at the same time as the signing of coach Andrei Shevchenko. Unfortunately, nothing came of the alliance between the Genoese club and the Ukrainian football legend.
In the new season, Everton scored 1 point in four rounds and is in 18th place. On September 17, the Toffees will host Arsenal.
