Vorskla announced the return of the defender to its ranks Najib Yakubu.
His contract with the Poltava club is valid until 2024. This season, the 23-year-old African legionnaire will wear number 25.
Yakubu became a Vorskla player in 2018. For the Poltava team, he played a total of 63 matches, scored two goals, and gave two assists.
The versatile flanker, who played for the Ghana national team at junior level, has not played in Ukraine since the end of 2021. In 2022, taking advantage of the FIFA annex, he went on loan to the Finnish Ilves. Over the past year, Yakubu played 19 matches for this club.
In addition, the Vorskla football player managed to change his football citizenship. Since the fall of 2022, he has been a member of the Niger national team, for which he managed to play 6 matches.
In the summer of 2023, the Poltava team extended the contract with another African legionnaire, Ibrahim Kane.
This season, Vorskla has scored 9 points in five matches and is in fifth place in the UPL. On Monday, September 18, Viktor Skripnik’s team will play away against Dynamo.
