Kovalenko’s team has returned a specialist who previously led the Blues several times
Empoli appointed new head coach Aurelio Andreazzoli. The specialist signed a contract until the end of the season with an option to extend for another year.
Andreazzoli previously headed the Tuscan club several times. The 69-year-old coach’s previous club was Ternana.
Earlier, Empoli management announced the termination of cooperation with head coach Paolo Zanetti, as well as with his entire coaching staff. At the start of the season, the Tuscan club did not score a single point in four matches and did not even score a single goal. The last straw was a humiliating defeat in the capital from Roma (0:7).
Let us remind you that Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Kovalenko has been playing for Empoli since this season. The Ukrainian plays on loan from Atalanta, the Blues have the option to buy out his contract at the end of the season. The 27-year-old player spent the mentioned match against Roma on the bench.
Empoli is in last place in Serie A. In the next match, Kovalenko’s team will host Inter on September 24.
