Brighton snatched a draw in the match with Marseille.  The Europa League match was refereed by Ukrainian Balakin

De Zerbi’s men bounced back thanks to a penalty goal at the end of the match

Marseilles did not keep the winning score in the home match with Brighton in the second round of the group round Europa League 2023/24.

In the middle of the first half, Gennaro Gattuso’s team scored two goals. Within two minutes, Chancel Mbemba and Jordan Veretout scored.

After the break, Pascal Gross reduced Brighton’s lead. And at the end of the meeting, Roberto De Zerbi’s team got even – Joan Pedro was accurate from the 11-meter mark.

Note that the Marseille – Brighton match was refereed by a Ukrainian referee Nikolay Balakin.

Marseille drew for the second time and are second in Group B, two points behind AEK. Brighton closes the quartet standings with 1 point.

In the next round on October 26, Marseille will host AEK, and Brighton will play Ajax at home.
