Belgian and Swedish authorities join forces to find shooter in Brussels

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström said Swedish authorities were in close contact with the Belgian side and had joined forces to find the shooter of the Swedish national team fans.

The qualifying match for the 2024 European Championship between Belgium and Sweden took place on Monday in Brussels. In the evening, it became known that two people had been killed following a shooting in the Belgian capital about an hour and a half before the start of the match. Police confirmed that two of those shot were Swedish citizens and that the terrorist threat level in the country has been raised to the highest level.
