Manchester City, Bayern, Real Madrid and rival Shakhtar. Analysts named the clubs with the highest chances of reaching the Champions League playoffs

The probability of Shakhtar finishing in one of the two first places in the group is estimated to be below 10%

Based on the results of three rounds of the group stage of the Champions League well-known analytical company Gracenote assessed the clubs’ chances to advance to the 1/8 finals of the tournament. According to expert forecasts, four teams out of 32 more than 99% probability of securing a place in the playoffs.

First of all, it is worth noting Manchester City, whose chances of reaching the 1/8 finals were estimated by analysts at 100%. The citizens scored nine points in three matches with Young Boys, Leipzig and Red Star. Leipzig has six points, the Swiss and Serbian clubs have one each.

Experts give 99.9% chance of reaching the playoffs to Bayern, which also has nine points, but its tournament prospects seem better. Galatasaray, which is in second place in the group, scored four points, Manchester United – three, Copenhagen – one.

Two Spanish giants have nine points each – Real Madrid, whose chance of 1/8 is also estimated at 99.9%, and Barcelona (the probability of the Catalans reaching the playoffs is 99.7%). Los Blancos are ahead of Napoli (six points), Braga (3) and Union (0). Barcelona is in first place in a group with Porto (6), Shakhtar (3) and Antwerp (0).

Note that, according to Gracenote estimates, 11 clubs, in addition to the above-mentioned four (Leipzig, Arsenal (6 points), Inter and Real Sociedad (seven each), Porto, Napoli, Atlético, have more than 90% chances of leaving the group.

In addition to them, according to analysts, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Feyenoord, Manchester United and Lazio are currently scheduled to make it to the playoffs of the tournament.

As for Shakhtar, analysts do not believe in Gornyakov. According to Gracenote, Shakhtar’s chances of reaching the Champions League playoffs are 5%. The only ones less likely to reach the 1/8 finals of the tournament are Celtic, Benfica, Red Star, Young Boys, Union and Antwerp.

Let us remind you that Shakhtar will play its next match in the Champions League on November 7. In Hamburg, the Miners will meet Barcelona in a nominally home match.
