The Ukrainian arrived for the fight of the “Gypsy King” with Francis Ngannou
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Alexander Usik met WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.
The Ukrainian previously arrived for the “Gypsy King” fight with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Usik and Fury greeted and hugged upon meeting, after which the Ukrainian lifted Tyson up.
Fury will fight Ngannou in a 10-round fight on October 28 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The WBC granted Tyson special permission to fight the former UFC champion.
The fighters underwent a weigh-in procedure before the fight. Fury was 2.5 kilograms heavier than Ngannou.
The Riyadh championship belt will be at stake in the Fury-Ngannou fight. The British promoter Frank Warren presented a special trophy at a joint press conference.
It is expected that immediately after this fight the final date for the unification fight between Fury and WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO belt holder Alexander Usyk will be confirmed. According to the “Gypsy King”, the meeting in the ring with the Ukrainian specified in the contract is December 23, 2023.
