One of the fans also threw an object that looked like a banana at him.

“Barcelona will always uphold the values ​​of football and sport of respect for opponents and we are investigating any racist abuse that may have occurred during the match against Real Madrid this afternoon,” the club said in a statement.

Previously, the Brazilian footballer was repeatedly subjected to racist insults from fans of other clubs. In May, Vinicius was the victim of racist insults from Valencia fans. After the trial in Spain, the perpetrators were refused access to the stadiums; the trial is still ongoing.

Real scored 28 points and topped the Spanish Championship standings. Barcelona is in third place with 24 points.
