The first victory under Pusic’s leadership was secured by goals from Nazarina and Zubkov
In the opening match of the quarterfinal stage Ukrainian Cup Donetsk Miner confidently beat Sumy Victoria – 3:0.
The miners gained a comfortable advantage by the 20th minute. At the very end, the favorite managed to consolidate the advantage and bring the matter to defeat. The first victory for new coach Marino Pusic was brought by goals from Egor Nazarina, Alexander Zubkov and Yaroslav Rakitsky.
Let us note that the Bosnian coach did not introduce outright understudies for the game, limiting himself to spot rotation.
At the previous stages, first-league Victoria passed Druzhba, Ingulets, LNZ and Minai. Shakhtar entered the tournament at the 1/8 final stage, where they defeated Veres with the same score of 3:0.
The remaining matches of the 1/4 Ukrainian Cup (Chernomorets – Zarya, Polesie – Alexandria, Obolon – Vorskla) will take place on November 1-2.
