Roma snatched victory over Lecce, scoring two goals in stoppage time

Lukaku missed a penalty early in the match but recovered in stoppage time

Roma achieved a strong-willed victory over Lecce in the home match of the 11th round Serie A – 2:1.

In the 5th minute of the match, Jose Mourinho’s team missed an excellent opportunity to take the lead – Lecce goalkeeper Vladimiro Falcone parried Romelu Lukaku’s shot from the penalty spot.

Midway through the second half, the visitors took the lead thanks to a precise shot from Pontus Almqvist. However, Lecce failed to maintain victory.

In the 90+1st minute, Serdar Azmun equalized the score, and two minutes later Lukaku brought Roma three points.

Roma scored 17 points and rose to 8th place in Serie A. Lecce remained in 11th position with 13 points.

On November 9, Roma will play against Slavia Prague in the Europa League, and on the 12th they will meet in a derby with Lazio in Serie A. Lecce will host Milan on November 11.
