38 year old player Flamengo decided to retire due to constant injuries that have knocked him out of action several times recently.
Apparently, the lateral will say goodbye to football next Sunday, December 3, at the legendary Maracana stadium. On this day, Flamengo will host Cuiaba in the match of the penultimate, 37th round of the Brazilian Serie A.
Throughout his career, Figueirense, since 2004, has played for Figueirense, Ajax, Uruguayan Rentistas, Spanish Rentistas, Real Castilla and Atlético (champion and winner of the Spanish Cup, twice winner of the LE, twice winner of the UEFA Super Cup, twice finalist of the Champions League), as well as Chelsea (champion of England -2015). He played 44 matches for the Brazilian national team and won the 2019 Copa America.
Since July 2019, the left back has played for Flamengo – 173 matches, 4 goals, 7 assists. Fla is a two-time Brazilian champion and winner of the 2019 Libertadores Cup.
This season, Flamengo is fighting desperately for the championship, taking fourth place two rounds before the finish and three points behind the leader Palmeiras.
As already reported, Fla will host Cuiaba on December 3 and will finish the season on December 7 away against Sao Paulo.
