“Many men would have done the same thing in his place” – Shishkin about Abaskal, who pushed Berisha

Former defenderSpartak » Roman Shishkin explained the behavior of the head coach of Spartak with emotions Guillermo Abascala in the episode with the midfielder “Akhmata » Bernard Berisha during the 17th round match of the RPL.

In Sunday’s match, Akhmat beat Spartak at home with a score of 2:1. After Hamid Agalarov’s goal against the Muscovites in the first half, Abascal received a red card for pushing Berisha. Before that, the player jumped with both feet into the Spartak technical area next to the coach. Berisha received a yellow card.

– I don’t like this expression – a troublesome opponent. The teams play against each other twice a season – you can calmly prepare for the match, study each opponent and approach the game efficiently. And it seems to me that this is exactly what Spartak lacked in the match against Akhmat. It is clear that it is not easy for everyone in Grozny. But Spartak has always been a special irritant for the home team. This accusation was visible – at least in the same Berisha, whose emotions were out of the ordinary.

– By the way, what was that?

– Of course, it was a provocation on the part of the footballer – and Abascal, of course, should not have succumbed to it. The whole situation doesn’t look good to either of them, especially Berisha. It’s an ugly act. Even if, it seems, nothing happened – you can celebrate goals and victories on any part of the field, no one forbids you. But we’re all human beings, we’re footballers, we understand what happened – and Abascal probably had a hard time holding back too. And he allowed himself to be taken in by the provocation – its “masculine” component came into play. I think a lot of men would do the same thing in his place.

— Does Spartak seem to lack such emotions?

— Yes, there was no, let’s say, spirit, perhaps a champion spirit, when the team arrives calmly, does its job and takes points. When difficulties arise, when the team must win back, it was not possible to put pressure on the opponent and reverse the course of the match. But here the credit goes to Akhmat – Miroslav Romashchenko prepared the team perfectly, he perfectly knew how Spartak played. You can look for many reasons for the defeat, but you need to remember the main thing – Spartak plays in waves, there is not enough stability, but even with such vague football it was possible to draw and earn a point. But they fail, lose and immediately fall back to seventh place. Or they could be in the top three or four. But there’s still one more round left – the team needs to work on the fact that their game is broken sometimes, and even then they need to earn points. But this is a task for the coach,” Shishkin told RB Sport.
