Gremio’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez recognized as the best football player of the completed Brazilian championship, reports the club’s press service.
The 36-year-old striker received the symbolic Ballon d’Or. The award was presented to him by his former Uruguayan teammate Diego Lugano.
In the finished season, Gremio finished in second place, losing two points to Palmeiras. Suarez played 33 matches, scored 17 goals, made 11 assists and led the league in assists (28).
Suarez’s contract with “Grémio” expires December 31. The media reported that the footballer could continue his career at the MLS club Inter Miami.
