Maxim made 17 saves in six matches

Ukrainian goalkeeper Sheriff Maxim Koval entered top 5 goalkeepers of the Europa League in count saves in the group stage.

Koval played all six matches for the Tiraspol club, conceding 17 goals. At the same time, the Ukrainian made 17 saves, finishing fourth in this indicator.

The leader of the rating was goalkeeper Vana Alves, who made 30 saves in six matches, while stopping one shot from the penalty spot. The top 5 also included representative Rakuva Kovacevic (27 saves), Russian goalkeeper of Karabakh Lunev (23 saves) and goalkeeper Sturma Scherpen (22 saves).

Koval has been playing for Sheriff since August 2022. In Ukraine, Maxim played for Zaporozhye Metallurg and Dynamo, and he also played for Odense, Deportivo and Al-Fateh. The goalkeeper has two matches as part of the Ukrainian national team.

Sheriff scored only one point in six matches and took fourth place in Quartet G, behind Slavia Prague, Roma and Servette.
