The hosts of the tournament will defend their champion title
Today at Qatar will begin Asian Cup 2023.
The 24 best teams of the Asian Confederation will take part in the tournament. The event will take place in nine arenas, four of which are located in Rayyan. Note that seven stadiums were previously used for the 2022 World Cup.
The 2023 Asian Cup will host 24 national teams, divided into six subgroups. The 1-2 places from each group, as well as the four best teams that took third place, will advance to the 1/8 finals.

The opening match of the 2023 Asian Cup between Qatar and Lebanon will take place today, January 12. The meeting starts at 18:00 Kyiv time. The final of the event is scheduled for February 10.
The current title holder is the host of the competition: in 2019, at an event in the UAE, Qatar beat Japan in the final match (3:1) and became the champion of the Asian Cup for the first time in its history.
