“CSKA sleeps in this transfer window, compared to Zenit” – former army footballer

Former defender CSKA Andrey Afanasyev commented on the work of the Moscow club in the winter transfer market.

– Of course, judging by Zenit, we can say that CSKA is still sleeping. But I am sure that the club’s sports department is working well and has everything under control. It’s just that at the moment the army team does not have such opportunities and therefore is trying to find exactly those players who can specifically strengthen the team. CSKA cannot afford such expensive transfers as Zenit.

I think that the CSKA leadership understands perfectly that without newcomers it will be very difficult to gain a foothold in the elite of the RPL. I suppose there will be new arrivals. I really hope that this will strengthen every line of the team,” Afanasyev said, as quoted by RB Sport.

During the winter transfer window, CSKA currently signed Baltika striker Tamerlan Musaev, and Zenit acquired Brazilians Pedro, Nino and Arthur, as well as Russian Ilzat Akhmetov.
