Athletistic/Football. Former footballer of the Russian national team and Spartak Roman Shirokov expressed his opinion regarding the new heads of the selection department of the Moscow team. Portuguese coach Joaquim Pinto became the new manager and Tomas Amaral was appointed sporting director.

Shirokov admitted that he does not know the Portuguese specialists and cannot predict whether their work in Spartak will lead to success or failure. He noted that decisions within the team are made by its management and that there may be a lack of qualified specialists in Russia, which motivates them to appoint foreign coaches. According to Shirokov, the experience of working with foreign specialists in Spartak had not previously brought positive results and there was nothing good from foreigners.
