De Ketelare’s brace brought success to the hosts
Atalanta in my field I confidently dealt with Lazio in the match of the 23rd round of the Italian Serie A – 3:1.
It was a fight between direct competitors for a place in the Champions League zone. The winner of the meeting advanced to fourth place – and the Nerazzurri succeeded in this.
The dominance of Giampiero Gasperini’s team resulted in two goals before the break. The first goal was scored by Mario Pasalic, and the second was scored by another ex-Milan player Charles de Ketelare from the penalty spot.
The excited Belgian made the score big towards the end of the match, finishing his solo run with a precise shot.
The Romans still managed to escape defeat. Ciro Immobile scored his 198th goal in Serie A from the penalty spot. This shot was Lazio’s first on target in today’s match.
Atalanta is now fourth with 39 points. Lazio has five points less and is in ninth position.
In the next round, Gasperini’s team will go to Genoa, and the Romans will play against Cagliari before the Champions League match with Bayern.
