The miners have reduced the gap to the Vernidub team
In the main match of the 19th round Ukrainian Championship Shakhtar beat Krivbass with a score of 5:2. The meeting took place at the Lviv Arena.
The miners were the first to open the scoring in the match – Efim Konoplya scored his goal after a rebound. A few minutes later, Yuri Vernidub’s team equalized the score through the efforts of Prince Adu. But literally in the next attack, the Pitmen took the lead again: Marino Pusic’s team quickly played a free kick, and Dmitry Kryskiv scored with an accurate shot.
After the break, Krivbass remained in the minority – Hrvoje Ilic received a straight red card for a flagrant foul. Shakhtar took advantage of their numerical advantage in the 68th minute, when Gornyakov’s third goal was scored by Artem Bondarenko. The score was made devastating by Kryskiv, who scored a double, but before the end of the meeting Krivbass scored the second goal of the match – Timur Stetskov scored. And the final score was set by Lassina Traore, who came on as a substitute.
After this match, Shakhtar scored 35 points and is in third place in the UPL standings. Krivbass has 37 points and is in second position, but Vernidub’s team played two more matches.
In the next round of the Ukrainian championship, Shakhtar will play against Kolos, and Krivbass will play with Obolon.
