The ex-Shakhtar forward became the fourth Ukrainian to join the club of the second strongest Polish division
Polish Lechia Gdansk officially announced the signing of the Ukrainian striker Bogdan Vyunnik. Contract with ex-player Shakhtar signed until summer 2028.
It was reported the day before that Bogdan was undergoing a medical examination at the new club and was close to concluding a contract. As the president of the Polish club, Paolo Urfer, said, Lechia initially wanted to rent Vyunnik, but later it became known about the striker’s conflict with the Miners. Ultimately, the 21-year-old Ukrainian became a free agent.
This season, Vyunnik played six matches for Shakhtar, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
In Lechia, Bogdan will become part of a fairly large Ukrainian diaspora. Bogdan Sarnavsky, Ivan Zhelizko and Maxim Chlan are already playing for the team from Gdansk. The latter recently scored for the Polish club in the third match in a row.
Lechia is in second place in the Polish First League – this place gives the right to direct promotion. The closest pursuer, GKS Tychy, is only a point behind.
