The Athletic winger’s move will depend on the Blues selling players
Chelsea watching the winger Athletics by Nico Williams. The Spaniard is one of the Blues’ targets in the summer transfer window.
Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sheshko remain the priority for the London club. Williams’ signing depends on Chelsea’s success in selling players to remain within Financial Fair Play. The player’s clause is around £43 million.
Williams may become a competitor in the position of the Ukrainian Mikhail Mudrik. The Ukrainian winger, as well as Raheem Sterling, are believed to be prime candidates to make room for the Ghanaian-born Basque. At the same time, the Blues management does not yet have specific plans for Mudryk’s transfer.
21-year-old Nico is a product of Athletica’s academy and the brother of fellow Lions player Iñaki Williams. This season, the winger has made 27 appearances for the club in all competitions. Williams Jr. scored six goals and added 11 assists.
Chelsea are in 11th place in the English Premier League. The Blues next host Newcastle on March 11.
