In the current tournament, the Norwegian has six goals in seven matches
In the return match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League with Leipzig Manchester City forward Erling Holland scored his first goal in just over three months in the tournament. For the Norwegian national team striker, a goal against the Bulls became 41st in Europe’s main club competition and 29th in the season.
The match against Leipzig further strengthened Haaland’s leadership in a not too obvious, but very interesting indicator: the Man City forward remains the only one in the TOP 50 scorers in the Champions League with more than a goal on average per match.
In the Champions League, Haaland has so far played 37 matches for three clubs – Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City. As mentioned above, the Norwegian has 41 goals. On average – 1.1 goals per match. For comparison, Messi has 129 goals in 163 Champions League matches (an average of 0.79 goals per match). Ronaldo has 140 goals in 183 matches in the tournament (an average of 0.77 goals per match).
At the same time, the Norwegian has another interesting indicator – he has played for the Norwegian national teams since his youth. Or rather, from teams for 19-year-olds. As of now, Erling has played 46 matches for these teams, scoring 48 goals, an average of 1.04 goals per match.
At club level, Erling has 216 goals in 251 matches so far. At the same time, the Norwegian indicators are as follows:
- Molde – 20 goals in 50 matches (average 0.4 goals per match)
- Salzburg – 29 goals in 27 matches (average 1.07 goals per match)
- Borussia – 86 goals in 89 matches (average 0.97 goals per match)
- Manchester City – 81 goals in 85 matches (average 0.95 goals per match)
In the 2023/2024 season, Haaland scored 29 goals in 32 matches. At the same time, the Norwegian did not score only in matches for the UEFA and English Super Cups. In another tournament – the League Cup – Erling did not appear on the field this season.
