The Nigerian only joined the Mariners in February
Head coach Chernomorets Roman Grigorchuk said that the Nigerian midfielder Jack Ipalibo left the team without permission.
“Unfortunately, we most likely won’t see him again. He just, I don’t know what word to choose, got ready and left.”
“I think probably the reason is the shelling of Odessa by the Russians. Moreover, we talked with him for about an hour on Friday. And the next day they simply told me that he was no longer on the team. He is already on the train – and has left somewhere. We really counted on him.”
The Mariners signed Ipalibo, 25, in late February. The Nigerian managed to play two matches for the Odessa team in the Ukrainian championship, without scoring any effective actions. In the last match with Vorskla (0:1), the midfielder no longer played.
Chernomorets is in tenth place in the UPL with 20 points. In the next match, Grigorchuk’s team will host Veres on March 17.
