The club’s management accepted the coach’s statement
Lazio officially announced the departure of the head coach Maurizio Sarri. Became temporary acting mentor of the Romans Giovanni Martusciello.
The coach independently resigned from his position, despite the contract until the summer of 2025. The coach’s resignation was officially accepted by club president Claudio Lotito.
It was reported that the main candidate to replace Sarri is the former forward, and now coach of the Lazio youth team, Tommaso Rocchi. The list of candidates also includes other ex-Orlov players Miroslav Klose and Christian Brocchi.
Lazio lost at home to Udinese (1:2) in their last match. Previously, the team dropped out of the Champions League, losing to Bayern. The Rome club have suffered five defeats in their last six matches in all competitions.
Lazio is ninth in Serie A with 40 points. The Eagles’ next match will be away to Frosinone on March 16.
