Former Russian national team midfielder Alexander Mostovoy spoke out against the extension of the contract with the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin .
The 55-year-old specialist’s contract with the RFU runs until July 31, 2024. He is also the head coach of Rostov.
– I don’t feel anything at all about this. I remain firmly in my position, unlike many, I am not changing my mind: we cannot have multiple positions, period. I’m against. Again, there is nothing like this anywhere in the world. Yes, the situation here is difficult, but a coach must coach either a club or a national team,” Mostovoy quotes RB Sport.
Karpin has led the Russian national team since July 2021.
