The blue-and-yellows achieved a strong-willed victory thanks to goals from Roman Yaremchuk and Artem Dovbik
The president Ukrainian Football Association Andrey Shevchenko congratulated the Ukrainian national team on their victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina (2:1) in the semi-finals of the playoffs of the 2024 EURO qualifying round.
“Congratulations to the Ukrainian team on a very important victory! The team showed character and fought until the last minute – well done! A decisive match is coming up in Wroclaw with the Icelandic team. Let’s go to the goal.”
At the beginning of the second half, the Bosnians succeeded in their attack, during which Nikolai Matvienko cut the ball into his own goal. The Ukrainians managed to equalize the score at the end of normal time thanks to a goal from Roman Yaremchuk. And three minutes later, Yaremchuk made an effective cross to Artem Dovbik, which brought the blue-yellows victory.
In the qualifying final, Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Iceland. The nominally home match for Ukraine will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, on March 26. The meeting starts at 21:45 Kyiv time.
