STJD denounced Glorioso’s agent for not presenting proof of manipulation in the 2023 Brazilian Championship
John Textor was denounced by the STJD attorney general’s office for not presenting evidence after allegations of results manipulation. The executive of Botafogo said, in a published audio, that he had evidence of corruption in Brazilian football.
According to information from “GE”, the North American businessman was indicted under article 223 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice, which cites “fail to comply with or delay compliance with a decision“. If Textor is convicted, a suspension of 90 to 360 days could be applied.

John stated, in a press conference after the match against Red Bull Bragantino, by Libertadores, which had recordings of referees asking for bribes. “I have judges recorded complaining about not having bribes paid“, said the representative of the Rio club.
The STJD gave the American a deadline of three working days to disclose the evidence, following accusations of manipulation. The Glorioso director’s defense claimed that demanding the presentation of documents would be illegal.
On March 14, the full court met to vote on the possibility of punishing Textor, but it was vetoed.
