Hero of the 20th round of the Second League Fesenko: I was surprised by Lewis’s transfer to Zvyagel, because not every foreign player will come to a country that is at war

The opening round of the spring part of the PFL brought many sensations, especially in the Second League. YuKSA lost points in Odessa, the main pursuers of the top four shared points in Stryi, and the penultimate team of the tournament – Real Pharma – decisively intervened in determining the fate of first place. It was after a sensational draw in Odessa that PFC Zvyagel got a chance to remain at the top of the tournament table.

However, this would not have happened if the renewed team had not broken Gibalyuk and a number of foreign players in the debut match against the main outsider – Kremlin-2. Jet winger Fesenko – “Zvyagelsky Marez” – had a direct connection to both goals scored by the Kremenchuz team.

The hero of the twentieth round in the Second League, Andrei Fesenko, analyzed the victory over Kremlin-2 (2:0), and also talked about the game together with the ex-football player of the London Arsenal.

— How pleasant and important is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the first round of the spring part of the season?

— First of all, I want to thank the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which provide the opportunity to play in such a difficult time for our country. Of course, I am overwhelmed with positive emotions. However, for me, the team’s results are most important, and personal achievements are a nice bonus.

– Almost before the start of the spring part of the season, Sergei Shishchenko left Zvyagel. How did the team take this news?

“We found out about this a few days before the end of the training camp. This is the second time our team has found itself in such a situation. We received the news with understanding, because Sergei Yuryevich was promoted. We are happy for him and wish him success with Polesie.

– Are Nikolai Gibalyuk’s requirements different or have there been no significant changes in the training process?

– There were no fundamental changes in the training process. He is also a very demanding specialist with a modern vision of football. Every football player must be taught as much as possible during the training process and during matches.

– How would you rate the new legionnaires? Borel, George and Wendell significantly strengthened Zvyagel?

– Of course, these are very serious transfers for our team. With such foreign players, the Ukrainians will also progress. We now have good competition for a place in the starting lineup. I hope that there will be no problems with rotation in this part of the season.

— In the first round, Zvyagel defeated Kremin-2 7:0, but the first half in Zhitomir was quite difficult. Maybe they underestimated their opponent a little or for some other reasons?

— Kremin-2 is a young team, which was not easy to play against. These guys are hungry for football and have nothing to lose. Before the break, not everything worked out for us, but in the second half we began to play more actively in attack and were able to score extremely important goals. During the break, the coaching staff noted that it was worth adding in terms of constructiveness and implementation. I think that we have coped with this task.

– You interacted quite well with the legionnaires. Can we already say that there are no problems with mutual understanding?

– Our team has individually strong players. In my opinion, some Ukrainians are even more technical than Brazilians. There are no problems with communication on the field.

— You took part in the first goal, earned a penalty in the second. Can we say that one of your most productive matches?

— I tried to follow the coaching instructions as much as possible. Of course, I would like to realize my chances, but, unfortunately, it was not possible. It is still necessary to work in the final stage in order to bring even more benefits in the next matches. I’m sure my best game is yet to come.

– Before last season, you were still an amateur, and now you are playing with a football player who played for Arsenal. Have you ever thought about this?

— To be honest, I was surprised, because not every legionnaire will come to a country that is at war. It’s nice to play with the ex-Arsenal player and our other newcomers. I express my admiration for our legionnaires. I think that they will bring a lot of benefit to Zvyagel.

– What conclusions did you draw from the match against the main outsider of the season?

– We analyzed this match carefully and analyzed our mistakes. You need to approach each opponent with maximum determination, because there will be no easy games. Every opponent wants to take points from the leader, so you must always demonstrate your best qualities.

– Do you remember your first steps in football? When did you feel that football would become your profession?

– I started playing football in Ostrog, Rivne region. I always wanted to play at the highest level. I do my best to grow professionally every day.

— What is the most important thing you have achieved progress in this season?

— There are no limits to perfection… Qualified coaches have worked and are working for us, under whose guidance football players can progress. In addition, competition for a place in the squad contributes to daily progress. It’s a pleasure to play in such a team.

– In the next round you will play against Chaika. What are your expectations from this confrontation?

— We are expecting a very difficult game against an ambitious opponent. First of all, it is important to give all your strength for the sake of victory and play your football. I think we will succeed.
