Courtois asks Real Madrid for a pay rise

Real Madrid recently extended his contract, but the Belgian is unhappy with his earnings

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois contacted the club president Florentino Perez with the request raise his salary before the start of the new season.

In August 2021, Real Madrid renewed Courtois’ contract until the summer of 2026. His salary is 7.2 million euros per year.

The Belgian goalkeeper helped Madrid win the Spanish championship and win the Champions League. In the 2021/22 season, Courtois made 50 appearances in all competitions, conceded 46 goals and kept clean sheets 22 times.

Courtois has been with Real Madrid since the summer of 2018. The Creamy paid Chelsea 35 million euros for him.
