The Ukrainian suffered a hip injury
Head coach Genoa Alberto Gilardino hopes that the Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky will be able to return by the end of the season.
“Matturro, Cittadini, Vitinha and Malinovsky are the missing players, including Retegui, who is recovering from an ankle problem. We hope that Vitinha will also be able to recover earlier than expected, and Malinovsky, as we all hope, will be able to return before the end of the championship,” the coach said.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian suffered a left hip flexor injury in the 30th round of Serie A match with Frosinone (1:1). Malinovsky managed to play only 18 minutes in the match.
The 30-year-old midfielder played 28 matches for Genoa in all competitions of the season. The Ukrainian scored three goals and gave two assists.
Genoa is in 12th place in Serie A with 35 points. The Griffins will play their next match on April 7 against Verona.
