The Red Devils management is ready to end cooperation with Erik ten Hag
Current Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi may lead in summer Manchester United.
The Red Devils’ management is ready to end their cooperation with the team’s current coach, Erik ten Hag, at the end of the season. De Zerbi is now the leading candidate to replace coach.
Thomas Frank and Gareth Southgate were named among ten Hag’s potential successors. At the end of March it became known that the club intended to negotiate with Wolverhampton coach Gary O’Neill.
It was previously reported that the Italian was preparing to leave in the summer transfer window, despite the current contract until 2026. Liverpool and Bayern were interested in the coach’s services. The coach’s agreement with the club contains a buyout option for 12-13 million euros, which will only be valid next summer.
De Zerbi worked with the Italian Foggia, Palermo, Benevento and Sassuolo, the Donetsk Shakhtar (2021/22 season, incomplete due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine) and the English Brighton (since September 2022).
Brighton are in tenth place in the Premier League, Manchester United are in sixth position.
