Athletistic/Football. Sweden abandoned the implementation of VAR due to fan protests. Most of Sweden’s elite clubs, whose fans own 51% of the ownership rights, are opposed to the introduction of video technology.
“If I count correctly, we have 18 elite clubs and two local clubs who have declared that they do not want to introduce VAR. We respect this decision,” said the president of the Swedish Football Association, Fredrik Reinfeldt.
Malmö became Swedish champions last year. The Sky Blues are top of the new table, winning the first five rounds.
