Diana almost made a comeback against the third racket of the world in the first set, but lost in the second game without options
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya lost to an American Coco Gauff in the third round match of the tournament WTA 1000 V Madrid.
The Ukrainian lost to the third racket of the world with a score of 0:5 in the first set, but then managed to take four games in a row, winning four set points along the way. And yet, in the tenth game, Dayana allowed her opponent to realize a break on her serve.
In the second game, the fight did not work out – Yastremskaya managed to score only one game.
Thus, Dayana was the last Ukrainian to complete her performances in Madrid in singles. Let us remind you that earlier Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk and Angelina Kalinina failed to overcome the second round of the tournament in Madrid. Before this, Lesya Tsurenko was defeated in the first round.
In addition, Yastremskaya, paired with Kalinina, lost in the first round of doubles in the capital of Spain. But the Kichenok sisters continue to perform there: Nadezhda in a duet with the Japanese Miyu Kato, and Lyudmila in the usual tandem with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia.
