The Ukrainian is completing preparations for the fight against George Kambosos
Former world champion in three weight categories, Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko flew to Australia to fight for the IBF lightweight title against George Kambosos.
“Of course I’m excited about this fight. I hope everything goes well and we’ll see what happens. We only have a week of training left. This is where we will spend the last week of training camp. So we’ll start tomorrow.”
“A message to my opponent? No, I don’t want to talk. It’s a competition and I think the best person will win. I really appreciate the support of local Ukrainians. See you in the arena.”
Previously, Kambosos called the Ukrainian one of the greatest champions of all time and a future member of the Hall of Fame. The Australian, having analyzed Lomachenko’s last fight with Devin Haney, believes that there are “holes” in the Ukrainian’s actions, and he is ready to demonstrate them.
The fight between Vasily and George will take place on May 12. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxi Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
