The match between Vorskla and Shakhtar will take place on May 15
Stadium director “Vanguard” to Rivne Alexander Alembita said that the arena management is working on the possibility of increasing the permitted number of spectators in Ukrainian Cup final before 3000 people.
“Recently, two UAF commissions visited us to check the readiness of the base. There were comments that concerned primarily the improvement of the territory, logistics issues, and parking of vehicles. I think that by May 10 all the shortcomings will be eliminated.”
“Efforts are also being made to ensure that more than 2,500 spectators can attend the final match, whose presence at the Avangard stadium has permission from the regional military administration. Now the documentation for several more shelters near the sports facility is in the process of being completed, and then the safety of at least 3,000 fans will be guaranteed.”
Vorskla and Shakhtar will meet in the final of the 2024 Ukrainian Cup. The match will take place in Rivne on May 15. The meeting starts at 19:00.
Avangard Stadium seats about 12,000 spectators. Rivne will become the ninth city to host the Cup final, after Kyiv (18 times), Kharkov (five times), Dnipro (twice), Sumy, Poltava, Lvov, Zaporozhye and Ternopil.
The current winner of the Ukrainian Cup is Dynamo, which narrowly beat Zorya in the 2021 final. In the 2021/22 season, the tournament was ended early at the 1/4 final stage due to the full-scale invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine.
In the 2022/23 season, the Ukrainian Cup was not played due to the busy schedule of the Ukrainian championship, matches of the national team and the participation of Ukrainian clubs in European cups.
