DAZN released a documentary about Usik’s fight with Fury (video)

Sports streaming service DAZN released an official documentary about the upcoming unification fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between the holder of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO titles Alexander Usik and WBC champion Tyson Fury.

The film was named “The Ring of Fire”, the same as the big boxing evening in Saudi Riyadh on May 18, the central event of which will be a fight between Ukrainian and British heavyweights. The list of other fights that will take place as part of the event in Saudi Arabia is also known. Among them is the fight between Ukrainian Daniel Lapin and Portuguese Octavio Pudivitra for the WBA Continental light heavyweight title.

The WBC proposes to reform the judges for the reporting fight, increasing their number to 5-6 people. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million.

Back in January, WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced that an agreement had been concluded between the boxers for a re-fight. The WBO is also ready to sanction the second fight. It was reported that the fate of a possible rematch depends on the holding of the first fight. Fury, in turn, admitted that the contract contains a mandatory rematch clause, and a re-fight with Usyk could take place in October.

Today, May 6, the chairman of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al al-Sheikh, announced that a rematch between Fury and Usyk is scheduled for October 12-13 in Riyadh.
