Verbic touching saying goodbye to Dynamo

The Slovenian was happy to represent the Kyiv club for 4.5 years.

Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Benjamin Verbic has officially left the Ukrainian club, moving to Greek Panathinaikos.

The Slovenian footballer published a post on Instagram, where he said goodbye to the people of Kiev.

“Dear Dynamo fans, I am proud of every day I live here. I love Dynamo, I love Kyiv and Ukraine. 4 years ago I came to Ukraine to work. In a great European club with good traditions and the highest goals. In a team with a kind team and a caring president. From the first day I feel at home.

We go through difficult times together. A terrible, unjust war in which innocent people die. Children who went to football supported their favorite teams and enjoyed life.

I am leaving my favorite club, my favorite team, which I will miss very much. My son May is half Ukrainian and he is a fan of Dynamo Kyiv, as his father was, was and will be. Dynamo Kyiv, Ukraine, thank you! I am proud to be a part of the history of a great club. Verbic is a Dynamo player forever,” Verbic wrote.

Recall that Verbic moved to Dynamo from Danish Copenhagen in the winter of 2018 for 4 million euros. For 4.5 years in the Kiev team, he played 121 matches. He has 37 goals, 12 assists, a Ukrainian championship (2020/21), two cups and the country’s Super Cup.

In March of this year, he took advantage of the relevant UEFA directive due to the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine and spent two months on loan at Legia Warsaw. In the summer he returned to Dynamo and played in the Champions League qualifiers against Fenerbahce. In the second leg, the Slovenian was injured and substituted in the first half.
