Mentor remains unemployed after being fired from Germany national team
Bavaria suggested Hans-Dieter Flick contract until summer 2026. The mentor is close to replacing Thomas Tuchel as head coach.
Flick has been unemployed since September 2023 after being sacked from the German national team. Bayern put their former coach on the expanded list of candidates in April.
The 59-year-old specialist previously led the Munich team from 2019 to 2021. Under his leadership, Bayern won two Bundesliga titles, the Champions League and a number of other trophies.
It was also reported that the Munich team are in talks with Julian Nagelsmann and Roberto De Zerbi. Zinedine Zidane was called one of the favorites for the position. Later, Benfica coach Roger Schmidt was included in the list of candidates. Ralf Rangnick turned down the opportunity to lead the Munich team. In addition, Jose Mourinho is counting on working in Munich.
Bayern are third in the Bundesliga. Munich will play Wolfsburg on May 12, the match starts at 18:30.
