Ukrainian and Romanian Ruse advanced after their rivals refused
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk reached the doubles semi-finals Roland Garros 2024.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian performs in a duet with the Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse. The Ukrainian-Romanian pair had to play against the “neutral” duo Mirra Andreeva / Vera Zvonareva in the quarterfinals of the tournament. But the “neutral” tennis players refused the meeting.
In the semi-finals of the tournament, Kostyuk and Ruse will play against Italians Jasmine Paolini and Sarra Errani.
Interestingly, Marta and Elena-Gabriela reached the semi-finals of the Grand Slam series tournament for the second time. In 2023, the Ukrainian-Romanian couple played in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
Earlier, another Ukrainian Nadezhda Kichenok finished her doubles performance at Roland Garros 2024, who, together with Miyu Kato from Japan, lost to the duet Coco Gauff / Katerina Sinyakova (USA / Czech Republic) in the quarterfinals.
