“Who is the best coach in Russia? For me, the best is always the one who took first place. But if Baltika was third, then I would say: “Semak is the champion, but Ignashevich achieved such a result with a no-. championship team,” Cherchesov said during a broadcast on Match TV.
Zenit, under the leadership of Sergei Semak, became the champion of Russia for the sixth time in a row. In the 2023/2024 season, the St. Petersburg club won the treble for the first time in its history, winning three tournaments at once (RPL, Russian Cup and Super Cup). Note that in the super final of the National Cup, Zenit beat Baltika with a score of 2:1.
