The midfielder himself is inclined to remain in the Spanish team
Girona does not intend to part with the Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov in the summer transfer window and wants to keep the 26-year-old in the squad for next season.
Girona head coach Michel believes that Tsygankov is a very important part of the team. It is reported that the player himself also agreed to remain at the Spanish club.
Previously, Girona offered Victor to re-sign the contract on much better financial terms, but the Ukrainian legionnaire decided to postpone this issue until the end of the current season. At the moment, he is focused exclusively on the Ukrainian national team and the upcoming performance at the 2024 European Championship.
Arsenal, Milan, Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham, Wolverhampton, Barcelona, Bayern and a number of other European clubs are showing interest in Tsygankov. According to the Spanish press, the midfielder’s clause is only 30 million euros.
In the recently completed club season, Tsygankov played 34 matches for the White-Reds, in which he scored eight goals and provided seven assists. His teammate and compatriot Artem Dovbik became La Liga’s top scorer with 24 goals.
Girona finished third in La Liga and will play in the Champions League for the first time in history.
